Some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, or end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.

Perry Family Reunion 2010

Every three years, descendants of Eva Norris Perry Bell (my great-grandma)get together for a family reunion. And they are MY FAVORITE VACATIONS EVER! I love them more than Disneyland and Hawaii, or in other words- a lot! None of us see each other very often (once a year at most), so it is so great to catch up with everyone.

Here's the thing, for the last couple of reunions, I was part of the teenage group. It was a party. Now, I came to this reunion and realized that pretty much everyone I hung out with got married. Lame! But luckily, I still had a few single cousins to be with and thankfully, some of my newly married cousins did not feel like they were too cool for us and hung out with us! Yay! So, here is a journal of everything we did. It's not really that interesting, it's mostly for me to remember this trip, not to entertain you.

Monday afternoon we arrived in Cedar City. We went to a beautiful park and met up with everyone for dinner. We played games and just went around meeting all of the new spouses and children.

Since we were all tired from traveling, we all went to bed pretty early. The next day, we had a devotional and then some people went golfing, some people went hiking, and all the little kids went swimming and to McDonald's. I chose the hike. It was beautiful! We hiked in the stream most of the way and there was red rock everywhere and it was gorgeous! It was so fun!

Then we were all super tired and napped in our own rooms. After my nap, I was super hungry so I walked across the street to Cafe Rio with my mom. We found my cousins Ryan and Shane there. A few minutes later, in walked my Uncle John and cousin Eric. Then my dad and sister Bri. A while later, Corinne, Justin, Josh, and Julianne (all cousins) wound up there too! It was super funny! After we ate, we went back to the hotel, only to find out that we were leaving for dinner in an hour. So we went to the park, where pizza was served. And sadly, many of us were too stuffed to eat the yummy pizza :(

And then we went bowling. It was insane! One of the Funniest moments was when my prego cousin Amanda got up to bowl one time, and she turned around and bowled under her legs. And she got a strike! She ended up winning and Eric pretended to be mad that a pregnant lady beat him. haha. Our family filled up the bowling alley it was so loud!

Back at the hotel, some of us hung out in the conference room. There were puzzles and games, and a few of my rebellious cousins played poker. haha

The next morning we did the usual family pictures. Grandma Bell had two children: Mona and Diane. Mona is my Dad's mom. She married John and here they are with their posterity:

{There are 62 of us total}

Diane married Mel. Here is their family:

{There are 29 of them total}

Combine it, and that's quite a few people from just having two girls!

After pictures, we went up into the mountains at some place that kinda reminds me of mueller park. We ate and played games. Then we had our talent show. I sang a song. It was fun to see everyone's talents.

Then Grandma, Grandpa, Mel and Diane each took a moment to speak to us. Since we only get together every three years, you never know who will have passed away by then. Hopefully, no one will. Grandma's is the one I remember most. She told us it was up to us now to decide if we wanted to continue with this reunion tradition (we do, of course), and then bore her testimony.

When this was finished, we went back to the hotel. A bunch of us went to the movie theater across the street. We were planning on getting tickets to the midnight showing of The Last Airbender. But, oh! No theater in Cedar City was doing one. Deeply upset, we decided to watch a movie in the conference room instead. We bought so much crap to eat. We watched the new Alice in Wonderland. We thought only the teenagers/young adults were going to watch the movie but soooo many little kids and "old people" were there too! It was awesome! Then we played some more games.

It was then that I realized we didn't really have a picture of our "clique" yet. Unfortunately, we were all looking like crap at that point because it was eleven thirty and we were tired.

Then Eric, Rylie, Josh and I went to Julianne & James's room. My dad also came to play video games with James. The rest of us talked and played with Christian, their little boy. He's two. They were trying to keep him awake all night so he would sleep the 8 hour car ride home. He was so hyper! We were all laughing soooo hard! At about two a.m., we all left.

The next morning, we all guessed what our lives would be like at the next reunion. My guess: I will have just graduated with my Bachelor's of Music and I will be preparing for an internship at Disneyworld that fall. Everyone elses guess for me: I'll have just graduated and be married and possibly be expecting a baby. Last reunion I was right about where I would be at this reunion, so we'll see who is the most right!

Finally, we said our goodbyes. And when we were in the car and I was hidden, I cried, like I do after every reunion. I love my family and I hate that we only see each other all together every 3 years for 3 days. It stinks. But the time I do get to spend with them is so wonderful!

I have been so blessed because I have been born into the MOST AWESOME FAMILY EVER!

Crepes

Yesterday I took my Daddy on a date to "Annie Get Your Gun". It was great! A bunch of people I know where in the show, including Breanna, Taylor and Devin. After the show, I dropped my dad off and went to Chili's with the cast.

One of the cast members brought his son, and I said to Devin, "Hey, that is the guy who married *Abby (*changed the name because it's really not my place to tell this story)!" 'Abby' is a friend of ours who was married for only like two months and then got the marriage annulled. And Devin was like, "No way! That is so weird!" And that was the end of the conversation. Or so I thought. About a half hour later, Devin said to the guy, "Hey! Weren't you married to Abby?" He said yes. I was horrified. And THEN Devin said, "I just wanted to let you know that the crepes at your reception were AMAZING!" And the guy was like, "Thanks...?". And it was so awkward.

After dinner, Breanna, Taylor, Devin and I were out in the parking lot dancing and being retarded. And I was laughing so hard that I seriously about started to throw up. It was so much fun!

My Daddy

Yesterday was Father's Day, and I would just like to inform you all that I have a wonderful father. This is in no order, I am just going to type random thoughts and memories.

According to most people, I look just like my dad. I consider this a compliment because my dad is very handsome. And when he was younger, all the girls thought he was way attractive (I learned this from reading his high school yearbooks hahaha).
Dad loves sports. I hope that I get this right: he played soccer, baseball and football in high school. He went to BYU and LOVES that school. He played on the BYU JV baseball team. He takes us to Provo for sporting events for fun.

He loves history. He is always reading Biographies and other random history books. You can ask him anything about history, and he usually knows it. He helped me write pretty much all of my history papers. In 7th grade, I went straight into Algebra instead of taking pre-Algebra first. It was the hardest class I've ever taken because I just didn't have the foundation I needed to understand that class. Dad stayed up with me every night and helped with my homework for that whole entire year.

The first musical my dad took me to was My Fair Lady at BHS in...1997, I think. And it was then that I learned that after seeing a musical with Dad, he acts out the whole thing if there are fun accents. I love that he gets really excited about musicals even though he has never participated in one and no one in his family did them and he is tone deaf. My dad gave me my first bouquet of a dozen red roses when I was fifteen. I thought it was the coolest thing ever! My dad has a really funny laugh when he laughs really hard. My dad and I think a lot of the same things are funny. My dad also thinks I'm funny, which I appreciate because not many people do.

I love that my Dad can always give me a blessing when I need one. I love that he wants me to succeed in the things that I love.

One more story about my dad that makes me cry whenever my mom tells me about it- It's a really random story but for some reason it means a lot to me. You might get grossed out by this but oh well! One time when I was a almost one year old I was very very constipated, and I was screaming and crying and very miserable. And my dad felt so bad. So what did he do? He started pulling the poop out of my bum with his bare hands so that I was no longer in pain. And I think that that was so kind of him!

I love my Dad!

Provo!!

Yesterday after getting home from work and being so so tired my dad said he was going to Provo in a few minutes. I decided to go with him.

Back ground info - my cousin Josh is sixteen and an amazing athlete. He lives in Arizona and he was invited to go to the BYU Nike training camp thing. My grandparents and some aunts and uncles were all going to watch him.

Anyway, I was super excited to see my family! Plus I love Provo so so so much! Once I got to Provo, I realized something else: My amazing friend Jefferson was at school and I could maybe see him!!! I haven't seen him since December. So right when I got there I texted him and we met at a bench by the Library and talked for like an hour! It was so great and made me so happy! I have missed him so!

Then, I went back to my family. And my cousin Eric came to join us! He goes to school at BYU as well and we are a year apart and we are just so close. Sadly, since we are both always so busy we only get to see each other once every few months. It was so great seeing him!!!

After we watched Josh we all went to BRICK OVEN!!! It was so yummy!

I am pretty sure that it was one of the greatest days of my summer! And maybe of my life! Haha

What? Two Jobs Weren't Enough?

That is what my friend Ben said when I told him I got a third job. And as we all know, I am not creative enough to come up with my own title so I steal from other people. Yes, I have a third job. I am a nanny for a ten month old girl. It has been a huge blessing because I have a lot less hours than I used to have at Eldredge and Rodgers. The only thing that is hard for me at this job is getting up at 4:30 am to be there by 5:00 am. When I get home around 1:00 pm -ish, I am usually too tired to do anything else with my day. But at least I have money!!!

Class of 2010

I has the wonderful opportunity of seeing my sister Brianne and cousin Rylie graduate from Bountiful High last week. I was thinking about my graduation and I was so sick with the swine flu that I really don't remember much. I remember having a fever and wanting to die.

My favorite part of this graduation was when everyone stood up and the class sang the school song. It was in an insanely high key. Did I sing along at the top of my lungs? Yep.

After the graduation, I kept asking my mom if I looked ok. She was like, "Bretleigh, it's not your graduation. You don't have to look good." A little bit annoyed, I said, "Mom, I was such an important part of all these kids' lives. I'm pretty sure someone is going to want their picture with me!" I was kidding of course, but then my mom sorta bet me that it wouldn't happen. Crap! So while Mom was taking pictures of me and Bri, I heard someone yell, "Bretleigh! I need a picture with you!" It was Patrick. And I was so happy and I kind of pulled a "Ha I told you so" face at my mom. So I won. The End.

Unknown

My plans for this summer did not work out. I was very frustrated for a couple of days. I like having and following a plan, and when the next few months ahead of me aren't already scheduled day for day it makes me very nervous. I really have nothing planned for this summer at all. No vacations or anything. Nothing. It's driving me crazy! But guess what? I know that I am going to have a blast and learn a lot and have a lot of amazing experiences. I don't know what will happen this summer, but I'm sure it's going to be great!!!! :D

WOW

It is very unusual for me to be this positive so soon after dissapointment! I don't know what has come over me, but I like it!
